As Lao Tze says in Verse 9 of theTao Te Ching, “When the cup is full, stop filling.”
Of course, right?
If our retirement “age” arrives and the cup is not full and we enjoy the work which the cup represents, then by all means continue. Especially if that work brings us joy! If we leave the comfort of the “job” or “workplace” and our work takes on new possibilities, all the better.
Retirement does not mean “stop doing whatever you were doing right now”!
It instructs us to step back.
...and allows us to look at what we have been doing from a different vantage point.
What do you see and feel? This is the key.
